Who this is for: Adults buying a one-off evaluation or registered credit pack.

Version 1.0Effective 27 August 2026Last reviewed 27 August 2026

Before you buy

The checkout journey shows the exact total, credit count or guest deliverable and the applicable cancellation information before payment. Prices may change for future purchases but do not change an already completed purchase.

  • QuillSquare Ltd is a UK company. Prices and payments are in pounds sterling.
  • No VAT is charged because QuillSquare Ltd is not VAT registered.
  • One registered credit pays for one writing evaluation. Purchased credits expire 365 days after the server-recorded grant date.
  • A guest purchase is for one AI-assisted writing evaluation and private digital feedback report.
  • Stripe hosts the payment form. QuillSquare does not receive full card details.

14-day cancellation for registered credit packs

A consumer may cancel an eligible credit-pack purchase by emailing refunds@quillsquare.app within 14 days, beginning the day after purchase. The purchase confirmation shows the exact calendar deadline. The request is in time when it is sent by that deadline, even if QuillSquare reads or processes it later. No particular words or mandatory form are required.

Include the purchase email and Stripe receipt or safe purchase reference. Do not include a learner’s name, writing, report, password or guest-result link. An entirely unused eligible pack receives a full refund. If the customer expressly asked for immediate performance and successful evaluations have already been supplied, QuillSquare may retain only the lawfully chargeable proportion for what was supplied and refund the remaining eligible value.

A successful evaluation is not refundable simply because a customer changes their mind about its educational judgement. Rights and remedies for faulty, non-conforming or missing supply remain available.

Optional model cancellation wording

To: QuillSquare Ltd, 9 Elm Walk, London, United Kingdom, SW20 9ED, refunds@quillsquare.app. I give notice that I cancel my contract for the following QuillSquare credit pack: [pack or purchase reference]. Ordered on: [date]. Purchase email: [email]. Name: [adult purchaser]. Date sent: [date].

You may paste that wording into an email, but ordinary clear wording such as “I want to cancel purchase [reference]” is enough.

Guest payment and the 24-hour availability remedy

Stripe may first place a temporary authorisation on the payment method. QuillSquare captures the authorised amount only after the evaluation succeeds. If evaluation fails before capture, QuillSquare cancels or releases the authorisation. The bank controls when a pending amount disappears.

When QuillSquare accepts the guest evaluation, the confirmation gives an exact deadline 24 hours later. Use the private result link to check whether a usable report is available; a separate result-ready email is not required for availability. If no usable report was available through that link by the deadline, email refunds@quillsquare.app with the safe guest reference. QuillSquare will prevent later capture and cancel/release an uncaptured authorisation, or fully refund a captured guest payment. A report first made available after the deadline does not remove this remedy.

A mistyped Stripe email is the purchaser’s responsibility where QuillSquare sent the confirmation and link only to the exact address entered. That typing error does not itself trigger the 24-hour or non-supply refund rule. This does not affect rights where QuillSquare failed to provide the service or sent information to a different address through its own fault.

Failed or materially defective evaluations

If evaluation fails before feedback is successfully supplied, QuillSquare returns the reserved registered credit or cancels/releases the guest authorisation. If a delivered guest report is blank, corrupt, unreadable, unrelated to the submitted work, substantially incomplete or materially different from the service described, the first-launch remedy for a qualifying report is a full refund.

For a qualifying registered report, QuillSquare first restores one credit so the evaluation can be repeated. If repeating is impossible or inappropriate, would cause significant inconvenience or also fails, QuillSquare refunds the value attributable to that credit from its originating paid pack. A difference of educational judgement, score, tone or preferred wording does not by itself mean the report is faulty.

How registered credits work

  • Credits belong to the adult account that received them and may be used across valid learner profiles in that account. They cannot be sold, gifted, merged with another account or redeemed for cash.
  • The server ledger is authoritative. Free promotional or goodwill credits are used before purchased credits; within each source, the oldest eligible expiry is used first.
  • A failed evaluation returns the same reserved credit to its original lot with its original expiry. It does not start a new 365-day period.
  • Expiry of an unused credit does not delete, hide or rewrite a report already completed with another credit. Reports follow the separate account and retention lifecycle.
  • Free or promotional credits have no cash value. A restored paid credit retains its paid-lot status for any later valid remedy.

Account closure and service closure

After the 14-day change-of-mind period, an adult may keep the account open to use purchased credits until expiry or ask to close immediately. On immediate closure, QuillSquare refunds the unused purchased value proportionately from the price actually paid for the originating pack, then removes remaining credits. Free or promotional credits are removed without cash value.

If QuillSquare closes the service, unused purchased value is refunded proportionately. If an account is ended for misuse, the same normally applies except for fraud, an existing dispute or chargeback, or a specifically established direct loss that law permits QuillSquare to retain.

Refund timing and payment method

Where a consumer cancellation, price reduction or refund is due, QuillSquare acts without undue delay and no later than 14 days after being informed or agreeing that the refund is due, as applicable. It normally uses the original payment method and does not add a QuillSquare refund fee. Stripe, the card issuer and the bank control when the released authorisation or refund appears in the customer’s account.

Duplicate or incorrect charges and statutory rights are not limited by this summary. The Consumer Rights Act 2015 and other mandatory rights continue to apply.

How to request help safely

Email refunds@quillsquare.app with the purchase email, safe transaction or evaluation reference, what went wrong and the remedy requested. Do not email learner writing, a raw feedback report, credentials, full card details or a private guest-result link. QuillSquare may ask for proportionate transaction evidence but does not require child identity documents.
