What not to email

Do not email learner writing, a raw report, a password, Firebase token, full card details, a diagnostic document or a private guest-result link.

Use the safe reference shown by QuillSquare. If more evidence is genuinely needed, QuillSquare will explain a proportionate secure route. Never ask a learner to send identity documents simply to report a product problem.

Received a guest email by mistake?

Do not open or share the private result link. Delete the email and tell help@quillsquare.app that it reached the wrong address. Do not forward the message or include its link in your reply. QuillSquare can revoke the capability when notified and will assess any personal-data breach duties that apply.

Parent and tutor connections

A parent can invite an individual tutor from the child profile. The invitation applies only to that child and becomes active only after the invited tutor accepts with the same email address.

Connected tutors are labelled separately from learners they added themselves. Each tutor has an isolated workspace: accepting a connection does not reveal another tutor’s assignments, reports or private notes.

For work assigned by a connected tutor, the tutor sees the completed evaluation first. The parent and learner see that it is awaiting tutor review, but cannot open the report until the assigning tutor releases it to the family.

A parent can disconnect one tutor without deleting the child profile or affecting another tutor. The disconnected tutor immediately loses the live profile, parent-shared work and the ability to assign new work.

  • Parents can see invitation status and cancel an invitation while it is pending.
  • Tutors can accept or decline pending invitations in their workspace.
  • If the tutor is not registered, the invitation link opens tutor registration and the pending invitation appears after registration.
  • When the assigning tutor releases a report, the parent receives a minimized email directing them to sign in; the email does not contain learner details or report content.
  • A disconnected tutor keeps read-only access only to assignments they created, together with the retained submissions and reports for those assignments. Reconnecting does not restore old parent-sharing choices.

Accessibility help

If a disability or assistive-technology issue makes QuillSquare difficult to use, email help@quillsquare.app. State the page, device/browser and barrier without sending learner work. QuillSquare will consider a reasonable accessible alternative where one can be provided, but does not publish an unverified conformance claim.

Complaints and escalation

Start with the email route that matches the issue. State what happened, the safe reference and the outcome you seek. QuillSquare may ask a focused follow-up question and will keep only the minimum case record needed.

For a privacy complaint, you may also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. QuillSquare does not currently subscribe to a private alternative dispute-resolution scheme. This does not affect court-provided mediation or another legally required process.

No emergency or safeguarding inbox

The help inbox is not an emergency, counselling or staffed safeguarding service. QuillSquare does not call emergency or safeguarding services for users. If someone is in immediate danger in the UK, call 999 yourself. See the Safety Limitations page for Childline, NSPCC and other external routes.
